Quality & responsible manufacturing

Quality Control & Product Testing

Quality control and in-house testing resources for seasonal decor and collectibles. Product requirements are reviewed for the specific item, packaging and destination market.

Dedicated quality control resources

DAK’s quality control resources include a 30-person team, drop test machines and vacuum equipment. Share the inspection and testing requirements for your product, packaging and destination market.

Test methods and acceptance criteria should be defined for the product configuration and sales programme under review.

Social auditing

DAK is an amfori member, and its manufacturing operations have undergone an amfori BSCI social audit. Social auditing concerns working conditions and responsible business practices. Product testing requirements are addressed separately for each product and destination market.

Define product requirements

For procurement planning, set out the intended use, destination market, applicable retailer requirements and acceptance criteria. Requirements for lighting, powered functions, outdoor placement or other features should be tied to the specific product configuration.

  • Appearance

Identify the approved visual references, dimensions, color and finish expectations.

  • Function & use

Describe how the product will be used, assembled and maintained, including relevant placement conditions.

  • Documentation

Identify the reports, labeling and product information needed for your market and sales channel.

Include packaging in the quality plan

Packaging requirements depend on the item and distribution route. Include protection, labeling, carton configuration and any requested transit testing in your brief. Agree the test method and acceptance criteria for the specific package.

Make product requirements clear from the start.

Share the product reference, destination market and quality criteria for your enquiry.
